San hima cargo gear bag review

In this review I want to address a common issue: finding things when bush camping. We've all experienced that moment when our gear isn't as organized as we'd like. The solution is simple, but it’s often overlooked.

When I was an Army instructor for M113 A1s, storage was crucial. Every piece of equipment had its place, and moving from one vehicle to another meant everything was always in the same spot. This approach to organization has carried over into my vehicle storage solutions.

Vic Offroad reached out and offered to send me some bags to review. This was perfect timing, as I was looking for ways to better organize my drawers. They sent me these Sanima canvas bags, and I’m excited to show you what they’re all about.

Unboxing

Vic Offroad provided two types of bags:

  1. Bag 1: 40 cm long, 16 cm high, 20 cm wide

  2. Bag 2: 40 cm high, 40 cm wide

Both are made from 600D Oxford canvas, which is durable and water-resistant. Unlike cheaper canvas, this material is sturdy and should hold up well over time.

The bags arrive flat-packed but become rigid when set up. Each bag includes dividers and a removable base, making it collapsible when not in use. The base feels like hard plastic, adding to the bag's sturdiness.

Inside, each bag has Velcro dividers for customizable organization. The lids feature pockets for smaller items, adding extra functionality.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Quality Construction: The bags are made from strong, heavy-duty canvas with cross-stitching that supports up to 20 kg. Handles on the large bag have rubber inserts for added strength, and anti-slip points on the bottom prevent movement.

  • Practicality: I’ve been using one as a tool bag, and it’s held up well, keeping everything organized and quiet.

  • Rigidity: The bags maintain their shape, which prevents contents from shifting around.

Cons

  • Manufacturing Location: These bags are made in China. While this initially concerned me, the quality has proven to be impressive.

  • Decal Design: I’m not a fan of the decal on the front, but it’s not a major issue since the bags are usually stored in drawers.

  • No Clear Top: Some users prefer clear tops for visibility, but with proper organization, this isn’t a major concern. The provided labels on the bags help identify contents.

Additional Thoughts

The color of these bags, a sandy olive, matches my gear perfectly. I’ve been a customer of Vic Offroad before starting this channel, and their products always come with a discount card for future purchases.

These bags are versatile and can be used both at home and in your vehicle. They are capable of holding up to 20 kg, so you won’t have to make frequent trips to fetch items.

Conclusion

The Sanima canvas bags from Vic Offroad are high-quality and reasonably priced. They offer excellent organization and durability. If you're looking for effective storage solutions for your vehicle, these bags are worth considering.

That’s it for this review.
